DBAR-SEA aims to enhance Southeast Asian countries’ capacity in SDG monitoring and advancement using Big Earth Data under the DBAR framework, focusing on capacity building, joint research and technology customization.

Overview of Activities

DBAR-SEA launched its implementation roadmap, focusing on SDG monitoring methodologies, regional collaboration, capacity building and policy support. It officially launched at DBAR 2025 via a side event co-chaired by Dr. Wenchao Xue, who presented Thailand provincial SDG assessment research.

Events

• Official launch at DBAR 2025 (Chengdu, June 8–11, 2025)
• Co-chaired side event: "Advancing Sustainability through Digital Science and Innovation in Southeast Asia" (June 10, 2025)
• Witnessed MOU signing between NRCT and CBAS

Network Development

Partnerships include AIT, AIRCAS, CBAS, NRCT and ASEAN research/government agencies, leveraging DBAR’s network and ICoE platform for collaboration.

Deliverables

SDG assessment frameworks, research publications, demonstration projects, technology transfer, training workshops and regional cooperation mechanisms.
