MoU signed under DBAR between CBAS and UENR
A new Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Digital Belt and Road Program of The International Research Center of Big Data for Sustainable Development Goals, The Chinese Academy of Sciences and the University of Energy and Natural Resources, Ghana. Professor Huadong Guo, Chair of DBAR and Director General CBAS and Prof. Nana Sarfo Agyemang Derkyi Pro Vice Chancellor, University of Energy and Natural Resources, Ghana signed the MoU on behalf of the two parties.
Internationally renowned experts including Prof. Massimo Menenti, Dr. Ishwaran Natarajan, Prof. Rosa Lasaponara, Prof. Amos T. Kabo Bah and Prof. Kamal Labbassi, Prof. Lin Hui, Prof Jia Gensuo, and Prof Chen Fang joined the signing ceremony as witness.
CBAS DBAR and UENR have agreed to continue operating the DBAR International Center of Excellence Sunyani hosted at the University of Energy and Natural Resources, Ghana for next five years till June 9, 2030. The ICOE will serve as DBAR’s regional hub for advancing its scientific vision in West Africa, with a focus on leveraging Big Earth Data for sustainable development, especially in the areas of water, land, energy, and public health.
Both parties have agreed to work together to support the forthcoming Digital Sustainable Development Goals Program under the UN IDSSD framework. Broadly both parties will engage in research, training, policy support, and knowledge sharing, and develop infrastructure.
