MoU signed under DBAR between CBAS and UCD
The Digital Belt and Road Program of The International Research Center of Big Data for Sustainable Development Goals signed an important MoU with Université Chouaïb Doukkali (UCD), Morocco hosting the DBAR ICoE El-Jadid in Morocco. Professor Huadong Guo, Chair of DBAR and Director General CBAS and Prof. Kamal Labbassi, Head of the Geosciences and Remote Sensing Group at UCD signed the MoU on behalf of the two parties.
Internationally renowned experts including Prof. Massimo Menenti, Dr. Ishwaran Natarajan, Prof. Rosa Lasaponara, Prof. Amos T. Kabo Bah, Prof Chen Fang, Prof Jia Gensuo, and Prof. Lin Hui joined the signing ceremony as witness.
This Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) sets forth the shared commitment between UCD and DBAR to continue their support for the DBAR International Centre of Excellence El-Jadid hosted at the University of Chouaib Doukkali, Morocco until June 9, 2030.
As a regional node of the DBAR network, ICoE El-Jadid brings a distinct focus to advancing SDGs in Belt and Road countries across Africa, particularly in the areas of clean water, urban sustainability, climate action, and the health of terrestrial and marine ecosystems by focusing on improving cooperation in scientific research, training, policy support, and knowledge sharing, and towards development of data and digital infrastructure.
