H.R.H Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn visited the DBAR ICoE-Bangkok
Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn visited the DBAR ICoE-Bangkok, National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT) booth at the Thailand Research Expo 2025 in Bangkok on June 20, 2025. The Expo is a regular annual event organized by NRCT to showcase the research, technology and innovation for the country’s development.
DBAR ICoE-Bangkok presented one of its projects on “Assessment of SDGs at the Provincial Level in Thailand: Leveraging Big Earth Data for Evaluating Basic Needs and Expected Goals”. Representing DBAR ICoE-Bangkok in the Royal visit were Dr. Monthip Sriratana, Director of ICoE-Bangkok, and Dr. Wenchao Xue, Principal Project Investigator and Associate Professor at the Asian Institute of Technology.
Recently during the annual DBAR Science Team Meeting, on June 8, 2025, DBAR ICoE Bangkok was also identified as the best ICoE in DBAR for year 2024-2025, a recognition which it has achived previously as well
DBAR ICoE Bangkok is the first DBAR ICoE that is working to develop and apply regional big Earth data for environmetnal protection, risk reduction, food security, urban development, and the preservation of coastal resources and world heritage sites.
