The Sustainable Development Science Satellite 1 (SDGSAT-1) developed and operated by International Research Center of Big Data for Sustainable Development Goals (CBAS) is the world’s first scientific satellite dedicated to serving the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (2030 Agenda). To promote utilization of Earth observation technology for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), CBAS is launching the SDGSAT-1 Open Science Program (www.sdgsat.ac.cn) to provide free access to data from SDGSAT-1 for scientific research around the world. The program aims to promote multi-disciplinary research on social, environmental and economic dimensions of SDGs and fill in existing data gaps limiting progress towards SDGs. SDGSAT-1 Open Science Program is well suited to support the development of scientific applications and publicly accessible SDG products.
